ADISA’s 2017 Spring Conference Expected to Draw More Than 700 Alt Professionals

ADISA, a trade association representing the alternative and direct investment industry, expects to attract more than 700 alternative investment professionals to its 2017 Spring Conference at the Hyatt Regency New Orleans on April 3-5.

The conference name has changed from “Spring Symposium” to “Spring Conference” this year to reflect the broader curriculum of education sessions offered and growing nationwide attendance, which has increased more than 30 percent over the past three years, the trade group said.

The event was designed for all industry professionals who sponsor, analyze, market, distribute or sell alternative investments, and most sessions will qualify for continuing education credits for finance and legal professionals.

“We have attracted a growing number of company presidents, CEOs and other C-level professionals to the conference, who find it to be a productive and approachable venue for networking and learning from leading professionals in the alternative investment space.” said ADISA Executive Director/CEO John Harrison. “We’re excited to host another unique event this year, where professionals from every facet of alternative and direct investments gather to learn from in-depth and insightful education sessions, share insights and grow their professional networks.”

Hot topics at ADISA’s 2017 Spring Conference will include: an outlook for alternatives; peering into the regulatory crystal ball; the best interests contract exemption; marketing and technology best practices; energy strategies; due diligence on interval funds; T-shares 101 and interactive sessions on robo-technology and cybersecurity. Products, including private equity, real estate investment trusts, business development companies, direct participation programs, Reg A+ offerings and 1031 like-kind exchanges, and new technology platforms will also be highlighted.

The Alternative and Direct Investment Securities Association bills itself as the largest national trade association serving alternative investment and securities industry professionals who are active in offering, managing and distributing private and public direct investments. ADISA’s members are typically involved in non-traded real estate investment trusts, business development companies, master limited partnerships and private and public funds, 1031 exchange programs, energy and oil and gas interests, equipment leasing programs, or other alternative and direct investment offerings. The association was founded in 2003 and has approximately 4,500 members.
