Bob Rice to Keynote ADISA’s Due Diligence Forum in Boston

ADISA, a trade association that represents the alternative and direct investment industry, announced that author, speaker and investment manager Bob Rice will keynote the association’s Due Diligence Forum, taking place July 12 – 13 at the Renaissance Boston Waterfront Hotel.

According to ADISA, the two-day program provides insight into a variety of due diligence hot topics, including: regulatory updates such as the DOL fiduciary rule and other initiatives undertaken by the SEC, NASAA and FINRA; a point-counterpoint discussion of non-traded vs. traded real estate investment trusts; the performance of oil and gas; and an overview of interval funds, share class economics, Section 1031 exchanges and more.

“Bob has a very diverse background, including legal, finance, technology and investments, and will provide our audience with a unique perspective on what shapes our economy and the effects this will have on the alternative investment industry,” said ADISA executive director and chief executive officer, John Harrison. “Bob will be an excellent addition to ADISA’s Due Diligence Forum, which is capped at approximately 200 attendees to allow for open conversations and sessions concerning the most important issues affecting our industry.”

With more than 30 years in the industry as an investment manager, lawyer, principal, and banker, Rice is the best-selling author of “The Alternative Answer” and “Three Moves Ahead.” He appears regularly in TV and print media, and conducts educational events for thousands of financial advisors and investors each year.

After starting his career at the U.S. Justice Department, he was a financial products partner at the premier Wall Street law firm Milbank, Tweed. He then launched a technology startup that became the publicly traded Viewpoint, of which he served as chief executive officer. Rice returned to Wall Street in 2004, founding broker-dealer Tangent Capital and later the consulting firm Rice Partners, both of which serve alternative managers and investors.

ADISA’s Due Diligence forum is attended by broker-dealers, registered investment advisors, due diligence professionals, compliance officers, sponsors and affiliates of the alternative investment industry.

The Alternative and Direct Investment Securities Association bills itself as the largest national trade association serving alternative investment and securities industry professionals who are active in offering, managing and distributing private and public direct investments. The association was founded in 2003 and has approximately 4,000 members.
