Carter Validus Announces New Vice President of Acquisitions

Carter Validus Mission Critical REIT II’s (CVMCR II) external advisor, Carter Validus Advisors II (CVA II) recently appointed Ben Gonyea as Vice President of Acquisitions.

“I am thrilled to join Carter Validus and execute an acquisition strategy that seeks to add value to a portfolio of high-quality assets and one that builds long-term relationships with data center real estate professionals, operators and owners,” said Mr. Gonyea.

In his new role, Mr. Gonyea will concentrate on growing CVMCR II’s portfolio by adding mission critical data center properties both in the U.S. and abroad. In addition to data centers, CVMCR II also acquires healthcare properties, focusing on long-term net-leased assets.

“Ben brings a wealth of data center industry knowledge, relations, and experience to our team. He will be a valuable asset when it comes to making strategic decisions around data center acquisitions and analyzing investment projects early on from the perspective of shareholders,” commented Michael Seton, President and Chief Investment Officer of CVA II.

Mr. Gonyea has 14 years of experience in the data center industry. Before joining Carter Validus, he worked for data center companies like Telx and Equinix. He earned his B.S. in Accounting from Daemen College.

CVMCR II was formed in January 2013. Having satisfied escrow requirements in July, 2014, CVMCR II made its first acquisition in August, 2014, acquiring an ambulatory surgery center in Houston, Texas.
