CION Investments Hires Managing Director

CION Investments, a manager of alternative investments, has hired Geoffrey Manna to serve as a managing director at the company. In his new role, he will lead the firm’s direct investment activities in the Southeast U.S. and will be responsible for originating, structuring and managing investment opportunities across the capital structure.

Manna has more than 25 years of experience financing and advising sponsored and non-sponsored middle-market companies across various industries. Previously, he held senior banking positions with firms including Credit Suisse First Boston, Deutsche Banc Alex. Brown, Bankers Trust Company, Royal Bank of Scotland and BNP Paribas, where he focused on originating, underwriting, structuring and managing debt and equity transactions for large-cap and middle-market companies. Manna began his career as a certified public accountant in the audit and transaction services groups of KPMG.

“We are very pleased to have Geoff join CION,” said Michael Reisner, co-CEO of CION Investments. “The Southeast U.S. continues to distinguish itself as a leading financial hub for investment funds and advisers, high net-worth investors and high growth companies. We are excited to be expanding our direct investment coverage platform to south Florida and believe Geoff will be instrumental in helping CION Investments continue to grow and distinguish itself as a direct lender.”

Manna received a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Villanova University and an MBA degree in finance from Columbia Business School.

Last week, The DI Wire reported that CION added Robert Nicholson and Andre Hatibi to its sales team.

CION Investments currently manages CION Investment Corp., a business development company with approximately $1.5 billion in assets under management and sponsors, through CION Ares Management, CION Ares Diversified Credit Fund. Its affiliated broker-dealer, CION Securities LLC, distributes its offerings.
