Franklin Square Hires Investor Relations Exec

Manager of public, non-traded business development companies (BDC) and one New York Stock Exchange listed BDC Franklin Square Capital Partners (FSCP) recently hired a Wall Street veteran to head up investor relations.

Jim Ballan joins FSCP to manage relationships with institutions, analysts, and others mostly as it relates to FS Investment Corporation (NYSE: FSIC), FSCP’s publicly traded BDC.

“We place tremendous emphasis on transparency and communication, and believe Jim’s experience and relationships will enhance those efforts and be of great value to our investors,” commented Michael C. Forman, Chairman and CEO of Franklin Square, in a statement.

Ballan most recently served as Vice President of Investor Relations at PHH Corporation, a national residential mortgage originator and servicer. He also worked on Wall Street for 20 years, 12 of which were as a sell-side analyst at Lazard Capital Markets, JP Morgan, Bear Stearns, and CIBC Oppenheimer.

As a research analyst, Ballan covered BDCs and certain areas of the financial and telecommunications sectors. In his early years, Ballan was a commercial and investment banker at companies like Lehman Brothers and Citibank, among others.

As of December 31, 2014, FSCP managed $14.9 billion in assets.
