GPB Capital Hires Jeffrey Schultz as Managing Director, Senior Counsel, and Chief Compliance Officer

GPB Capital Holdings, LLC, a global investment management firm focused on income-producing private equity and real estate, hired Jeffrey Schultz to serve as its new managing director, senior counsel, and chief compliance officer.

Schultz, who has more than 10 years of industry experience, will be responsible for GPB’s general legal matters, including fund formation and corporate governance, as well as oversight of its compliance program.

“We are thrilled that Jeff has joined our leadership team…,” said Roger Anscher, managing partner and chief operating officer of GPB. “Given GPB’s significant growth, particularly over the past year, as well as increased regulatory requirements associated with operating in our industry, we have decided to hire another seasoned attorney to focus exclusively on these critical areas. We are confident that he will add tremendous depth to our organization.”

Prior to joining GPB, Schultz served as chief legal officer and chief compliance officer of Phoenix Investment Adviser where he oversaw all legal and compliance matters for the hedge fund manager. Prior to that, he served as legal counsel for BNP Paribas Investment Partners where he provided legal and regulatory advice to the bank’s North American asset management business. Schultz also served as an associate in the asset management practices of Bingham McCutchen LLP and Katten Muchin Rosenman LLP. He received his bachelor’s degree in English language and literature from the University of Michigan, and his juris doctorate from the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law.

GPB Capital Holdings, LLC is a New York-based global asset management firm. GPB-sponsored entities have nearly $550 million in assets to date and have acquired interests in 42 portfolio companies with revenues totaling more than $1.8 billion.
