RIAs Have a New Alts Education Resource

There’s a new alternative investments academy coming to market. Aequitas Capital Partners (ACP) and Circle Squared Alternative Investments (CSQ) have partnered to educate and train Registered Investment Advisers (RIAs) and the advisor community on alt investments and strategies.

Tomorrow, January 13th, The ACP Alts Academy will host its first educational webinar for ACP members. Members of ACP include RIAs who benefit from access to intellectual, financial, and human capital, in addition to investment platforms, technology, and alternative investment solutions.

Jeff Sica, CIO and founder of CSQ, will host the inaugural webinar. Topics to be discussed include CSQ’s outlook for alts in 2015 and why Sica believes alts could fuel the growth of advisory practices. Also on the agenda includes thoughts on allocation issues and the Endowment Model.

“We are excited to have chosen Jeff Sica and Circle Squared Alternative Investments to lead the RIA training and education for the ACP Alts Academy,” says Keith Gregg, President of Aequitas Capital Partners. “After much deliberation and exploration of other sources we believe that there is no one better than Jeff or his firm. With nearly two decades of experience of domain knowledge and subject matter proficiency in alternative investments, not to mention real life as a practicing Registered Investment Adviser to high-net-worth investors and family offices, this is a huge win for Aequitas and the advisor community at large.”

As alternative investment products and strategies become more popular, the need for education will continue to rise.

CSQ provides education and training to financial advisors interested in anything under the alternative umbrella. Its CSQ Institute teaches advisors how to understand alts and conduct due diligence.

“We want to empower the advisor community to participate in the projected growth of alternatives and enhance their value to their clients through improved knowledge around these investments,” said Jeff Sica, CIO, Circle Squared Alternative Investments. “The great benefit of this partnership is advisors will now have the ability to use the education and training to construct better performing portfolios.”

The ACP Alts Academy plans to offer webinars, panel discussions, podcasts, articles, and in-person training to advisors that seek knowledge on alts and proper portfolio positioning of the asset class.
