W.P. Carey-Sponsored REIT Appoints Kristin Sabia as Chief Accounting Officer

Corporate Property Associates 17 – Global Inc., a publicly registered non-traded REIT sponsored by W.P. Carey (NYSE: WPC), appointed Kristin Sabia to serve as its the chief accounting officer.

Sabia succeeds ToniAnn Sanzone who was named chief financial officer following the resignation of Hisham Kader. As reported by The DI Wire last month, Kader stepped down as CFO of W.P. Carey and its two non-traded REITs to accept a CFO position at a private real estate firm in Boston.

Sabia, who also serves as controller of W.P. Carey, joined CPA:17 in November 2012 as assistant controller and was promoted to controller in January 2015. In that role, she was responsible for the internal controls, accounting and financial reporting of the REIT.

Prior to joining W.P. Carey and CPA:17, she held various positions from 2005 to 2012 in the assurance practice of Ernst & Young LLP, where she specialized in real estate. Sabia is a certified public accountant and received a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the State University of New York at Albany.

In other CPA:17 news, the company recently purchased a solar facility in Perrysburg, Ohio for approximately $14 million.

CPA:17 – Global went effective in November 2007 and closed in January 2013 after raising $2.9 billion in investor equity. The company’s portfolio consists of 446 properties with an investment cost of $4.5 billion, since the company’s last quarterly filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.
