Walton International’s EVP Honored with IPA’s Outstanding Service Award

The Investment Program Association honored Wayne Souza, general counsel and executive vice president, law, at Walton International Group (USA), Inc. with its 2015 IPA Outstanding Service Award.

Souza helped establish the IPA private placement committee and served for three years as its chair. He’s also served three years on the IPA board of directors and currently serves as vice-chair of the IPA’s policy advocacy committee.

Souza has also represented the IPA in front of the Department of Labor, Securities and Exchange Commission, Financial Industry Regulatory Authority and others, and his vision for the IPA has directly led to the existence and success of two critical IPA committees.

The IPA Outstanding Service Award is unique, with nominations coming from fellow association members. It honors an individual IPA member who demonstrates exceptional qualities of leadership within our association and displays consistent dedication of time and effort to the advancement of direct investments.

The IPA member who nominated Souza said the following, “Wayne has been the consistent core of enthusiasm, intelligence, ideas, and energy that drives us forward. The IPA policy advocacy committee would not work without Wayne. Not a single week has gone by without some degree – usually hours – of his participation in and advancement of the IPA cause.”

The Investment Program Association was formed in 1985 and is one of the direct placement industry’s leading trade organizations. It supports individual investor access to a variety of asset classes not correlated to the traded markets and historically available only to institutional investors. These include public non-listed REITs, business development companies, energy and equipment leasing programs, and private equity offerings.
